Founding Office Manager
Full-Time • $60,000 • Start Date: July 2026
The Opportunity
When a family walks through our doors for the first time, you'll be the person who makes them feel they belong. When a student needs help navigating a challenge, you'll be a calm, trusted presence. When our team needs someone to keep everything running smoothly, you'll be the one who makes it happen.
As ARCHS's founding Office Manager, you won't just manage a front desk — you'll create the welcoming atmosphere that defines who we are. Your bilingual skills will bridge cultures. Your organizational abilities will keep our school running. Your warmth will make every family feel welcome.
What Makes This Role Different
At ARCHS, we believe our office is more than an administrative hub — it's the window into our school community. Our IDEAS values (Interdependence, Dignity, Exploration, Advocacy, Self-Awareness) guide everything we do, including how we greet families, handle challenges, and support each other.
You'll work alongside our Operations Manager building systems from scratch. You'll help shape policies that put families first. And you'll be part of a founding team creating something new for Milwaukee's South Side.
Your Work Will Include
• Being the welcoming face — greeting families, answering questions, and making everyone feel they belong
• Supporting student success — tracking attendance, maintaining records, and following up with families
• Keeping things running — managing supplies, coordinating vendors, and scheduling spaces
• Bridging languages — providing Spanish translation and interpretation so every family can fully participate
• Supporting the team — helping wherever needed as we build our school together
You Might Be Right for This Role If You
• Are fluent in Spanish and English — this is essential for connecting with our families
• Have experience keeping an office organized and running smoothly
• Find genuine satisfaction in helping people and solving problems
• Stay calm and warm even when things get hectic
• Care about Milwaukee's South Side and the families who live here
• Are excited (not intimidated) by the chance to help build something new
Compensation & Benefits
• $60,000 annual salary
• Comprehensive insurance — health (HDHP with HRA/HSA), dental, vision, life, disability
The Honest Truth
Working at a startup school is different. Some days you'll be updating attendance records. The next you might be helping set up for a community event. There's no "that's not my job" in a founding team — we all pitch in where needed.
But if you're someone who thrives on variety, who finds joy in helping others, and who wants to be part of building something meaningful — this could be the perfect fit. The relationships you build and systems you create in year one will shape ARCHS for years to come.

Our selection process includes a phone screen, practical exercise, and panel interviews. We're looking for people who combine warmth with organization, patience with efficiency.
