Founding Family and Enrollment Coordinator

Full-Time • $70,000 • Start Date: February 2026

The Opportunity

The work begins long before opening day: finding students, cultivating family relationships, and earning community trust.

ARCHS is looking for a founding Family and Enrollment Coordinator who understands that recruitment isn't about filling seats—it's about building a community. We open Fall 2026 with 80 students. By year four, we'll serve 160. But the relationships you build with founding families will shape our culture for decades.

Why This Role Matters

On Milwaukee's South Side, families have limited high school options. Chronic absenteeism in our target ZIP codes reaches 62%. Many families have been let down by schools that made promises they couldn't keep.

ARCHS offers something different—Gold Standard project-based learning, restorative justice practices, small class sizes, bilingual family engagement. But none of that matters if families don't know we exist. And knowing we exist isn't enough—they need to trust us.

You'll be the person who earns that trust. Not through marketing campaigns, but through relationships. Not through glossy brochures, but through showing up at community events, listening to what families need, and being honest about what we offer.

The Role

You'll report to the Executive Director (in year 1) and Principal (year 2 and beyond) and own everything related to family relationships and student enrollment.

•        Student recruitment — Lead outreach campaigns. Attend school fairs, community events, and church gatherings. Build relationships with K-8 schools, community organizations, and local businesses. Meet families where they are.

•        Enrollment management — Shepherd families from first inquiry through enrollment. Manage applications, coordinate lottery (if needed), handle registration, maintain waitlists. Make the process feel welcoming, not bureaucratic.

•        Family engagement — Be the ongoing bridge between school and home. Coordinate family events, orientations, and communications. When families have concerns, be the first call. When they have celebrations, be there.

•        Community partnership — Build relationships with organizations that serve our families. Churches, community centers, social services, local businesses. Create a network that supports our students and spreads the word about ARCHS.

•        Bilingual communications — All materials, all events, all conversations—available in Spanish and English. Language should never be a barrier between our school and our families.

What We're Looking For

Required:

•        Bilingual Spanish-English proficiency (this is non-negotiable)

•        2+ years experience in enrollment, admissions, community outreach, or family engagement

•        Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

•        Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across cultures

•        Proficiency with database systems and Microsoft Office

Preferred:

•        School enrollment or admissions experience

•        Deep connections to Milwaukee's South Side Latino community

•        Community organizing or grassroots outreach background

•        Knowledge of ZIP codes 53204, 53207, 53215, 53221

•        Experience with student information systems

Compensation & Benefits

•        $70,000 annual salary

•        Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) — employer contribution to your pension

•        Comprehensive insurance — health (HDHP with HRA/HSA), dental, vision, life, disability

•        220-day schedule — year-round with summer and school breaks

The Honest Truth

Recruiting for a school that doesn't exist yet is hard. You'll be asking families to trust a building they haven't seen, teachers they haven't met, and a model they haven't experienced. Some will say no. Some will say yes and then change their minds. You'll celebrate when you hit enrollment targets and worry when you don't.

But if you're the kind of person who builds relationships one conversation at a time, who shows up consistently until people know your name, who believes that families deserve real choices—this is your chance. The community you build in year one will define ARCHS for generations.

How to Apply

Submit your resume, cover letter, and three professional references through WECAN. To access the job posting, click here or search vacancy ID 272771.

In your cover letter, please tell us:

•        Tell us about a time you built trust with families or community members who were initially skeptical.

•        What's your connection to or understanding of Milwaukee's South Side Latino community?

•        Why do you want to help launch a new school?

Our selection process includes a phone screen, community outreach scenario, and panel interviews. We're looking for relationship-builders who understand that enrollment is about trust, not transactions.

ARCHS is committed to building a diverse team that reflects the community we serve. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who identify as Latino, bilingual, and/or from Milwaukee's South Side. We are an equal opportunity employer.
